The Song Maiden is a short animated film whose narrative touches with some of the most pressing societal issues of our day, such as the importance of the girl child and the practice of child marriage in some areas of the world. A young woman born into a remote Nigerian community named Song is confronted with her destiny from the moment of her birth, but she refuses to accept it and instead fights for her freedom.
How we told the story
According to a UNICEF report, the prevalence of child marriage in West and Central Africa is 41 percent, meaning that four out of ten girls and young women - nearly 60 million - were married before the age of 18.
DDNA as a Storytelling Agency wanted to lend its voice to some of the cultural issues that bothers on the girl child.
We Used the Art of Animation To Tell A Powerful Inspiring and Cultural Story.
Impact
